No Surprises Act

The No Surprises Act was implemented January 1, 2022, and aims to protect consumers from surprise billing. Here at Verity Counseling, LLC, the last thing we want is for you to be surprised about the costs of our services. We aim to be upfront and open about cost.

Please note that out of pocket costs are $150 per session.

If you plan to use insurance....

If you want to use your insurance plan, you will be asked this when scheduling your initial evaluation. Be prepared to give us details of your insurance plan or plans - even if you do not see them listed on our website.

The costs of your treatment would vary then based upon the specific details of your plan with your insurance carrier. We would charge your insurance our rate of $150 and they would cover their portion of the costs and you will be responsible for your deductible or copay. This is in our contract with your insurance and is in your assumed contract with your plan.

If you plan to pay out of pocket...

If you do not have insurance, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of costs of services. This will detail the cost per session and estimated sessions within the next 12 months (due to the fact that therapy is a recurring treatment. i.e you have multiple sessions, not a one time treatment).

If you do have insurance but choose to schedule with me knowing I am not in-network with your insurance, this means that you would be bypassing insurance. I would also provide this Good Faith Estimate that shows the costs of services both per session and estimated cost in the next 12 months.
